I first wrote about Yoga Plus here.
Through some scheduling conflicts, last week was my first week. I was a little a lot intimidated but determined to go and determined to understand what I could and couldn’t do.
I found the class challenging enough I broke a sweat, could certainly feel it the next day, and it stretched where I certainly needed to stretch, but it also wasn’t so hard that I found myself discouraged or anything.
Kathy was a positive teacher who kept an eye on our postures to ensure we were not going to harm ourselves, but also intense enough that the challenge was there to make us feel our bodies working.
There wasn’t anything I couldn’t do, which was nice, nothing like having to sit and wait for the next move because you physically just can’t bend that way.
The class is still small, and people are still afraid, and why wouldn’t they be, the world is a nasty nasty place when you’re plus sized.
But they create a safe space.
They create a welcome space.
They create a healthy space.
